Herb Guide
Ashwagandha
Ashwagandha has a bold, dark, earthy taste and it makes me feel calm and focused. It’s an interesting herb, even the name of it alone gives it this mystical presentation of being from a faraway land. While researching it I found so many applications for how it is used. I usually tincture most of my herbs, but this one I prefer as a tea because it exudes a unique flavor and aroma. To think of it, it’s the only herb that I take and chew on throughout the day. I like it for its ability to improve memory, mental clarity, and physical performance.
Valerian Root
Valerian has a very unique and pungent smell, and it’s probably the first thing you'll notice about it. Some describe the smell as sweaty socks after a very long day working. Regardless, Valerian has properties that promote restful sleep and I benefit from it every night that I take it. In addition, it works very well to relieve anxiety and nervous tension.
Passionflower
Probably the most alien-looking flower I’ve seen on any plant, the passionflower proves to be such a unique and beneficial ally. For herbal use, the flowering tops and the leaves are used to make a collection of remedies and medicines.
Ginkgo Leaf
Around the world, it is most commonly used to treat Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease by protecting nerve cells damaged as a result of the sickness. Research has shown that Ginkgo Leaf helps with memory, thinking, and learning.
